In case you hadn’t noticed, poker is absolutely booming in Brazil! Andre Akkari is at the forefront of Brazil’s poker charge and has been selected as the person set to lead the Sao Paulo Metropolitans for the innaugural season of the Global Poker League, which kicks off in just a few months time.

Entering his 10th year on the live tournament circuit, Akkari won a World Series of Poker gold bracelet in 2011.
